I have been thinking for a while about how to address the economy issue. When talking with several of my wedding planning friends they are all saying they are getting calls frompotential clients asking about their "economy package". I have had some potential clients who were truly effected by the current economy and had to change their budget and therefore their services with Proposing Dreams. We are more than happy to work with a budget of any kind and we will find the right amount of services based on your budget but there is no "economy package".
To adjust for this growing trend we started seeing in 2008 at the beginning of 2009 we have changed our services to be completely custom to each and every client. We discuss your needs, current plans, future plans and budget to develop just the right package for you. We have starting places for each service we provide and feel this is much more serving to our clients than in the past of standard packages. We also don't work with hourly packages. We feel that if it takes us longer to complete a task, that shouldn't be at your cost and frankly I just don't have time to keep track of hours. I might work on 4 different clients in one hour and keeping track to would just add to my tasks. We don't want you to ever feel like you can't call or ask for something because you will be billed more than you we're expecting. We set out a plan, work within that plan and occasionally if needed, discuss with you if that original plan needs to be altered at some point.
I was doing my daily blog reading and came across a post by one of my favorite planners and bloggers Terrica of Fabu-luxe and as always she just plain said it better than I could. Please take a moment to read her tips on what a good planner should do for you! As well as a few other post she links to about wedding planner myths. This one might be my favorite - Why you don't need a wedding planner.
And in closing this is a great post after you have done your research. Yes, we know we won't land every client out there. We would love to be a part of every wedding in St. Louis, the Midwest, the country, and the world but we just can't. We also completely understand that there are certain planners that are right for certain clients. So please read this post about letting us or anyone else you have interviewed know when you have made your decision. Also if we are already booked or just not right for you have we have a list of experienced, professional planners we would love to recommend.
And this little gem (one of the reasons I added her to my blog reader) about how you should not be treated by any vendor....READ ON!
Ok, that's all for tonight. Again, more tips and reviews coming this week. The season is in full swing!!
Thank you so much for the shout out! I am so glad that you enjoyed the posts. I hope your readers do too! It was very sweet of you to include me in your post.
I hope you are well,
T
