Videography
WDS: Please describe your Professional Biographical Background.
John Tegan loves t-shirts with catchy phrases, playing drums in a rock band and rescuing sea mammals. Not the bio you were expecting? Good, because the wonderfully unexpected is what happened when John brings his creative vision and perspectives to your wedding. As videographer for the C+W team, John will turn his passion for cinematography into memories that you will cherish for a lifetime.
John joined the team after escaping the hallowed halls of Corporate America-where phrases such as ‘leveraging synergies’ and ‘value add’ were thrown about as if they had real meaning. Turning his back on programming and hid beloved binary code, John decided to enroll in the Film School at Ithaca College to pursue film and photography. His sole reason for returning to school was as simple as wanting to capture images that moved him emotionally and affected him on a visceral level. Yes friends, he wanted to be THAT guy – the guy who moves people through his art and through the lens of his camera.
In his life after film school John has worked on documentaries, created short films and studied abroad to hone his craft. Now, he brings his unique passion for capturing the beautiful images and emotions of your wedding, will move you and allow you to relive one of the most important days of your lives.
So expect the unexpected! It is not only a catchy phrase on a t-shirt, it’s what you can count on from John and his camera.
WDS: What types of cameras, tapes, and microphones will the videographer use? How new is the equipment?
We utilize two cameras when shooting weddings: The Canon 5D Mark II and the JVC GY-HM100U. Both cameras accept memory cards allowing for tapeless video recording, eliminating much of the concern of failure that can result from using video tapes. We have a few different microphones, but primarily use a wireless Sennheiser lavalier microphone that is put on the groom to capture the audio during the ceremony. We also use this microphone during special moments at the reception.
WDS: How bright a light do you use? (Will shooting require the room lights to be on part or all evening?)
We prefer ample lighting for our video shoots, however, we also use a camera mounted video light in the event the lighting isn't adequate.
There is a backup camera. The videographer will use the 1st camera to get the details of the event, while the 2nd camera is used as a backup to make certain that important moments aren't missed.
WDS: How long before they see the final product?
The current turnaround time for an edited DVD is 8-12 weeks.
WDS: What makes your company stand out that we might not know about?
The crew at Clark + Walker Studio is passionate and excited about what they do. It's our highest priority to capture your event through exceptional imagery, whether it is still photograph or videography. Our style and eye for our craft is of the highest standard.
