M. Haley Deign was started in 2005 as a realization of Melissa’s dream! Delivering quality products, high on style, with respect to the client’s budget is our mission. These principles drive every decision that we make.
After five years in business, and with hundreds of weddings to our credit, we have grown from Melissa handling everything herself to a team of many talented members. We all work together to bring your product to life.
Our latest development is our new office located at 629 N. New Ballas Rd. Suite 203 in Creve Coeur. We are currently there only by appointment and continue to work mostly from our home studio in St. Peters.
WDS: What is your design background?
Our designers are degreed graphic designers with many years of professional design experience. Designing invitations is a specialized area of graphic design. Melissa Haley is a self-taught designer and has owned and operated M. Haley Design for five years.
WDS: Is your printing done in-house or do you outsource the printing?
Our printing (with exception of envelopes) is all done by outsourcing to professional printers. Printing is a highly-specialized trade and it takes years to reach mastery.
WDS: Do you offer a package or discounted price if they order all of the invitation components at the same time?
At M. Haley Design, we are like a jewelry store that doesn’t run sales. We always offer our best pricing. This means that you are free to add different stationery items to your order as you’d like without the pressure of trying to make a decision based on receiving a discount.
WDS: Are there any new styles, trends or color combinations they might consider? Which are the most popular? What kinds of handmade or artesian paper do you offer?
Every year there are new styles, trends and color combinations in wedding design. The most well designed weddings tie everything together in some way. Using color to create a story is one of the most exciting aspects of our industry! We would love to help tailor your stationery to make the most of your wedding design. Most color schemes are born following selections of bridesmaids’ dresses and flowers. In terms of popularity, we see a tendency towards organization, which makes the pocket fold invitation a natural selection. Because of the custom nature of our work, we are always doing something fun and new. Creating new looks is often made possible by the hundreds of natural fiber, handmade Indian, and other types of specialty papers. If you are interested in these types of selections, we have many different resources we will share with you to help you decide what you’d like to choose.
WDS: What is a good per invite budget range?
Each bride’s budget is unique to her. That said, our minimum pricing is $3.50 per invitation and our minimum order is $150. We have made invitations that cost as much as $45 per invitation. Obviously, that creates quite a window for pricing. At a price point of $7.00 a bride has the most options with us. We are happy to meet with you individually to show you the options and go over pricing for all of the different price points.
