Pat Jacoby is the owner of "Patty-Cakes", a custom design cake shop in Highland, Illinois. Pat began taking classes and decorating cakes in 1973 for family and friends. She opened her shop in 1981 selling decorated cakes, party supplies, and cake decorating supplies. The business grew so rapidly, a year later Patty-Cakes moved to a new location on the town “square” where it is still located today. Patty-Cakes is recommended by most of the area's top wedding vendors in the St. Louis Metro East area. They are known for the most up to date styles and designs in the area. Pat, Leah and staff make and deliver approximately 50 wedding cakes per month along with numerous all occasion cakes. In 2006 Pat’s youngest daughter, Leah, joined her in the business specializing in gum paste flowers and "whimsical "cakes. Leah has graduated from culinary school with a degree in baking and pastry arts. Over the last several years, Pat and Leah have learned from outstanding sugar art teachers such as Nicholas Lodge, Colette Peters, Margaret Ford, Earlene Moore, Norm Davis and Bronwen Weber as well as attending hundreds of demonstrations at conventions, cake camp, and days/weekends of sharing. Pat and Leah teach all over the United States. Pat was first place winner on TLC’s “Ultimate Cake Off” in July 2009 and she and Leah have been asked back to compete again in Dec. 2009 in season two. Pat has won numerous awards for her cake designs in local cake decorating competitions including first place for design and “Peoples’ Choice Award” at “For the Love of Chocolate” competition in Chicago in 2007. Creations from Patty-Cakes have been featured on several TV Shows “Show Me St. Louis”, “Great Day St. Louis”, KMOV TV News, KPLR TV news, and in publications such as The Knot, St. Louis Best Bridal, St. Louis Bride and Groom, St. Charles Magazine, Arts & Expression, St. Louis Post Dispatch Sunday Magazine, American Cake Decorating, and ICES. Pat is also on the advisory board for the St. Louis Community College Baking and Pastry arts degree program and a member of the St. Louis Sugar Art Guild and International Cake Exploration Society.

Cake Flavors we offer: White, Chocolate, Marble, Amaretto, Butter Pecan, French Vanilla, Red Velvet, Cherry Chip, Spice, Banana, Carrot, Lemon
Fillings: Caramel, Fudge, Cream Cheese, Raspberry, Cherry, Lemon, Bailey's Irish Cream, Strawberry.
WDS: Are there different prices depending on the design of the cake or the flavors?
Cakes start at 2.50 per slice and go up from there depending on what type of icing, fillings, sugar flowers, and detail work put on cake. Each cake is priced individually according to bride and groom specifications.
WDS: Does the baker offer a cake tasting session? Is there a charge? How many people can come to the tasting?
Yes, we offer tasting sessions. Approx. time for the tasting is 1 hour. There is no charge, and no limit on how many people attend.
WDS: Will the baker use real or sugar flowers?
We will use real or sugar flowers. If sugar, they must be made by us, if we are putting real flowers on your cake, they must be at the venue at the stated deliver time if you want us to put them on the cake. If the florist is putting flowers on the cake, they must do it after the stated delivery time. We are not responsible for any damage done to your cake if the florist or anyone else touches.
WDS: How will the baker deliver the cake and is there any extra charge for delivery?
We will deliver each cake to venue and AVERAGE cost is 50.00. Some less, some more but not more than 65.00.
